2024 All Hockey Spring Development Clinic

Welcome

2024 All Hockey Spring Development Clinic

All Hockey and Tri-Cities Amateur Hockey Association are excited to provide the greater hockey community with a truly premiere, high-end training opportunity this coming May 17,18 and 19.

The process of growing from good to great is dynamic in nature.  It involves adopting successful habits and mastering skill sets that are fundamental to becoming a dominant force in your area of focus.  In the sport of hockey, these development requirements begin with the adoption and use of optimal biomechanics.

At this year's spring development clinic, players will receive training  in the core areas of On-Ice Skill Development.  Emphasis will be placed on edge control, stride, maintaining optimal biomechanics while under overspeed/high-agility conditions, puck management, ice awareness, etc.

Coaches are chosen for their high level of aptitude as players and their ability to break down complex skills into teachable components.

Here is a deeper dive into what players will receive at this clinic:

1. Powerskating - biomechanics/posture, stride, range of motion, inside and outside edge proficiency, agility, pivoting, transitioning, tight turning, etc.

2. Overspeed Training - Accomplishing high speed entry and exit of movements without compromising biomechanics, maintaining speed along a high-agility path and during evasive movements, etc.

3. Passing - Proper hand position, giving passes and receiving with sustained movement

4. Puck Protection - Ice Awareness, hand position, evasive techniques, optimized puck handling (overhandling, etc.)

5. Agility - Proper positioning over the skate blade, strike point, with and without the puck

6. Maintaining Ice Awareness - Training "head up" style of play with and without the puck.
